The Weekly Wrap

Thank you for taking the time to read through this week’s weekly wrap and to keep up to date with school happenings. Students and staff continue to participate in a range of activities and events in addition to their regular learning programs.

A big week ahead with Book Week beginning – leading up to Dress Up day on Friday. Students have already commenced and are enjoying the Footsteps Dance program which is scheduled on Mondays.

Best wishes to all for the week ahead.

Kind regards – Paul, Rob and Nicky.

Congratulations, Well Done and Thanks

  • To the students, staff and families who participated in our school’s second Korean Homestay program over the last three weeks. Special mention to Senior Leader, Nicky Taylor, for her excellent coordination of the whole homestay program, which again proved to be a highly successful and rewarding experience for all involved. We look forward to continuing the program in 2020.

  • To all students in Reception to Year 4 who proudly shared their learning to their peers, families and friends at last week’s team assemblies.
  • To our School Service Officers (SSOs) who were acknowledged in many ways throughout SSO Week last week, for their ongoing work and efforts.
  • To our wonderful parent helpers who helped with school photo make up day and organising the whole school photo. Here’s a sneak peek – note the professional shot / photo (to come) was taken from a height.

To Note / Reminders

  • Book Week begins this week, we look forward to our annual dress up day this coming Friday 23rd August. This year’s theme is ‘Reading is My Secret Power.’ Check the post for details.  Whole School Assembly from 9.15am – parents welcome.

  • School Closure (Royal Adelaide Show) – Friday 30th August.
  • Student Free Day – Monday 2nd September.
  • Lost property is continuing to build up again – please check for any items that may have been misplaced.
  • To support our planning for 2020, we would like students / families who will be not at Craigburn in 2020 to contact the school via phone 8270 4144 or email [email protected] This does not include any current Year 7 students. Thank you.
  • 2020 Reception Enrolments / Transition – Families that have a sibling enrolment for 2020 will receive a transition letter soon, outlining information for transition visits, which will occur over three consecutive Wednesdays 13th, 20th and 27th of November.
  • Excursions / Camps Update – As per the recent post  we have recently reviewed our excursions and camps consent forms to align with departmental procedures and are unable to continue offering the signing facility through the Qkr! App for consent. However, payment can still easily be made through the Qkr! App. Parents/Caregivers will be required to complete and sign the yellow consent form after having carefully read the information.  Forms are then to be returned to the school. Any consent forms that have been submitted via Qkr! prior to Monday 29th July, 2019 will still be accepted. Students will not be able to attend any excursions/camps where a yellow consent form has not been returned to the school.
